The Dangerous Goods Package Certificate is a core mandatory document for sea freight booking of dangerous goods. Its application process mainly includes the following five key steps:
- Submit Application: The applicant shall submit a formal application for the Dangerous Goods Package Certificate to the local customs, which shall specify core information such as the type, quantity, packaging specifications and container model of the goods in detail.
- Submit Supporting Documents: Simultaneously submit supporting certification materials, including but not limited to packing list, Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for dangerous chemicals, and type test report for dangerous chemicals packaging design.
- Inspection and Quarantine: After receiving the materials, the customs will carry out inspection and quarantine work on the goods and packaging, specifically including container appearance inspection, cargo packaging integrity check, dangerous characteristics identification and testing, packaging water resistance and anti-tipping performance tests and other items.
- Evaluation and Review: Based on the inspection and quarantine results and application materials, the customs will conduct a comprehensive evaluation and review, focusing on verifying whether the dangerous characteristics of the goods comply with relevant standards, and whether the packaging and containers meet the safety requirements for sea freight.
- Issue Certificate: Upon approval, the customs will issue and grant the Dangerous Goods Package Certificate, and supervise the affixing of compliant labels on prominent positions of the container to prove that the packaging and container meet the relevant laws, regulations and standards for the international maritime transport of dangerous goods.
